Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into a mixed ethnic family. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss and the mother of her is English. She was born and raised in a council estate located south of London. When she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. During her time at the academy, she appeared in a number of stage productions such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. Over the past few years she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. After the film's success, Madekwe appeared as Elisha in The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside. The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport on the ABC Drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she made a guest performance in the very first episode of season three. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem in the role of Tituba. Then, in June of 2012 she got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. They collaborated in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Goldberg also appeared alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for the Gemini Award, is a member of a large Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat was a part of Roy and Patty and her other siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's four brothers, each of them extremely athletic, played hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer months, which means she basically grew up in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was unable to walk, but was able to dance. In the end, at the age of 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was captivated by dance at this age. Ashley continued to perform competitively until her high-school graduation at the top levels of competitions, such as tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more. Ashley was awarded the top soloist award at every major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among some.
